Hi, my name is Harry and I live in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. I have been working with SWSC for over 10 years and during this time I have played a key role in securing several Government contracts for the business. I previously worked in the IT, Medical, Financial, Telecommunications, FMCG and Construction sectors at operational and strategic levels. I have a strong network in the area and I’m good at identifying opportunities where SWSC can deliver their robust solutions.

I have visited the HQ in Dublin, Ireland on several occasions and have supported the company at International Exhibitions.  The sales team have helped me learn about the products they offer and they use various online tools to identify upcoming tender opportunities in Tanzania which I support whilst working on the ground to cultivate relationships and spread the word about SWSC!

 

On a typical day, I will research potential clients and stay updated on industry trends and opportunities whilst engaging with key decision-makers and influencers.  Agents are self-managed, so I am flexible on where I focus my efforts and spend my time. When there is a tender or submission of tenders, as the local agent my role is very important within the bid team, arranging bids, andorganising any localisation requirements to ensure that SWSC has the best and fairest chance of success.

Once we are successful, I have a crucial role to play in onboarding and ensuring post-sale satisfaction.  This includes collaborating with the clients and representing the business to ensure client expectations are met. 

In my spare time, I try to spend time with my family, Jayne (wife and fellow business partner) and daughter, Olivia in Dar es Salaam, the commercial capital of Tanzania. When I have time and get a chance to visit my very energetic Mum, Mecky in our village, Ihembe II, Karagwe District. She keeps herself busy on her organic coffee, maize, fish, beef and dairy cows, rabbit and banana farm. My plan in the not-so-distant future is to process our Robusta/Arabica coffee, package and sell it locally as well as export it.  My other passion is Rugby. I used to play fairly competitively in Scotland and here in Tanzania. The highlights of which playing Rugby 7s and 15s for Tanzania.  Walking is now my hobby it not only burns calories but also helps me clear my head being a very good stress reliever.
